How To Buy a Nintendo Wii From an Online Retailer
Here are some tips to help you buy the Wii online. This is stuff I've picked up from watching Wii come and go and looking over the logs.
- Most retailers make available their Wii stock at 11:00 a.m. Central (9 AM PST/12 PM EST). Maybe because most are located on the west coast and that is the start of the business day, who knows? While this isn't a guarantee that the next time Wii will be posted at 11:00 a.m. (9 PST/12 EST), are you willing to take that chance? Try to be at your computer every day at 11:00 AM CST and refreshing this page or watching the widget
- If you are using the Wii Widget, update to the version currently available for download. The older Wii Widget only checked every 3 minutes. The new version checks much more frequently. If you aren't sure which version you have, just download it again. It won't hurt anything if you replace the one you have with the same version.
- If you are using an RSS Reader, make sure it checks at least every minute for an update. The Wii Finder RSS feed updates every minute when Wii are in stock.
- This may seem dumb, but practice clicking through to different retailers when Wii aren't in stock just to make sure you know exactly what to do and where to click when Wii are in stock.
- You won't have time to add a Wii to your cart and then contemplate if you should buy it. By the time you decide, the Wii in your cart will be gone and sold to someone else. Move fast on this.
- If you just can't wait for Wii to come in stock, check out the Wiibay page (Wii auctions on Ebay).
